The Handz of Time on "The Name of The Rose" video, myspace & More....
Os (Official Site): Its been Five Months since The Name of the Rose Video has been released, How do you measure its success? THOT(The Handz of Time): Immense for what it is, Its a completly independent work. Im the director, the visual effects team, the editor, I mean needless to say I was undertaking a huge task for it being my first Video. To answer your question, I've had thousands of views on multiple sites in 5 months, all culminating with the 10th spot on the myspace video charts, with massive help From my fans of course. Os: How is the Feedback on it going? All positive? Thot: Honestly yes, I do get the occasional feedback where someone will say I like the Vid but not the song or vice versa but for the most part people like both, and that was expected since the Video does not follow any Rules to making a Hip-Hop Video. OS: Could you talk about how it doesn't follow any rules and why you chose to do that? Thot: Im not out to follow ANYONE or any rules. I think im smart enough to know it is a huge risk to mix Gothic like Images that could be found more in a rock video with an underground style Hip-Hop song. Luckily for me I am the Ceo of my own Label and I was willing to take such a risk. I'd like to share that one of fans wrote to me the other day about that saying, "I love the gothic theme and how you mixed it with hip hop you're gonna have people criticizin' you for it but guess what, F*@& THEM!!!" OS: Do you talk to fans alot? Thot: Yes, most definitely...thanks to Myspace, Youtube, etc. I try to respond to all my messages/comments, I greatly appreciate them. I have to say im not doing so good on twitter, I guess I don't hang out there as much as I should. OS: Whats Next? THOT: I have the official online store opening up, we will be handling Band Merch for other Independent Labels & Artist as well. Im working on a new Video we should begin shooting soon and also, thanks to "The Name of the Rose's" success I have multiple artists asking me to Direct for them. I really want to get back into my music though want to do more shows, but we will see. I have to say that unless you've been following me for a long time, you might not be aware of my Battle Emcee status, So I really want to get back to my roots and release some mixtape tracks or something like that. To let the Hardcore fans know whats up.
